The applicator consists of a handle with internal pole to open and close the fingers which take a sleeve. To apply a sleeve to a blade the applicator’s fingers are opened and the sleeve slipped over them. The open sleeve is then offered to the blade and slid on to the end where the applicators fingers are slipped out away from the blade. To remove a sleeve the applicator’s fingers are closed, slipped under the sleeve, opened and slid off.
Two grades of applicator are currently offered – domestic and commercial.
In a commercial environment the applicator has the advantages that it enables sleeves to be used on fans where workplace practices do not allow the use of ladders and is a significant bonus to maintenance staff in them not having to lug ladders through commercial premises to clean ceiling fans.
